The Google Pixel 4a smartphone is one of the most anticipated devices of this year. Almost everything is already known about it, but the release of the device is constantly delayed. Now, during the launch of the COVID-19 contact tracing app in France, the Pixel 4a has been spotted on the list of StopCovid compatible devices.
Fandroid has discovered the official list of devices supported by the coronavirus contact tracing app released today on Google Play for French residents. Notably, this application does not use a specialized Google API. The list shows the devices on which the application has been tested, which also includes some smartphones from Huawei, Xiaomi and many others. The Pixel 4a is listed under the code name Sunfish without specifying the brand or model.
From this we can conclude that one of the developers of the application was able to test it on a smartphone that has not yet been released to the general public. Ironically, the reason the device hasn't been unveiled so far is due, at least in part, to the ongoing pandemic and its aftermath.
