Google has curtailed sales of mid-range smartphones Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. This is reported by the Android Police resource, citing information received from representatives of the American IT giant.

Named devices debuted in May last year. The devices are powered by a Snapdragon 670 processor with eight Kryo 360 cores with a frequency of up to 2,0 GHz and Adreno 615 graphics. The amount of RAM is 4 GB. The Pixel 3a version is equipped with a 5,6-inch screen, the Pixel 3a XL model is equipped with a 6-inch one. The resolution of the panels is 2160 Γ— 1080 pixels (Full HD+).

The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are reportedly no longer available for purchase from the Google Store. You can buy them only from those retailers who still have stock in stock.

Obviously, the cessation of sales of smartphones is due to the preparation for the release of the Pixel 4a, which has already been seen on the websites of a number of regulators, in particular, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The presentation of this smartphone was expected back in May, but then the announcement dates were shifted to June, and subsequently to July.

According to the available information, the Pixel 4a will be equipped with a 5,81-inch Full HD + OLED display with a resolution of 2340 Γ— 1080 pixels, a Snapdragon 730 processor, 6 GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel front camera, a single 12,2-megapixel rear camera sensor and a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 3080 mAh with support for 18-watt recharging via a symmetrical USB Type-C port.
