Google to end App Maker in 2021

Google has announced its intention to close App Maker, an app builder that allows you to create simple software solutions without programming skills. The service will be phased out gradually and will cease operations on January 19, 2021. This decision was made due to low demand from users.

Currently, the service continues to function normally, but is no longer under active development. At this stage, App Maker support will be provided in full. Starting April 15, 2020, users will no longer be able to create new applications, but the ability to edit and deploy existing solutions will remain. After January 19, 2021, existing App Maker-based apps will stop working. Developer data stored in Google Cloud SQL will remain in its current state.

App Maker users are encouraged to consider switching to a different development platform. Any data related to apps powered by App Maker will be available for export until January 19, 2021. Developers are encouraged to export the data, after which the application and associated files in Google Cloud SQL should be deleted.

The App Maker platform allowed people without programming skills to create simple applications. Applications created with App Maker worked on the basis of Google's infrastructure and could be integrated with other company services.
