Google has begun to close the social network Google+

The social network Google+ had a relatively low popularity among users. Several major data breaches are also known, as a result of which information about tens of millions of platform users could fall into third parties. Due to the first leak, the data of which was kept secret for several months, a decision was made to terminate Google+. The second data leak prompted developers to speed up this process. It was originally planned to close the social network in August this year, but now it has been announced that this will happen in April.

The company acknowledged that the Google+ platform did not live up to expectations in terms of user growth. Google representatives say that the efforts expended and the long development did not help the social network achieve popularity among users. It is worth noting that even despite a modest audience, Google+ for many years was a community of loyal users who continued to use the project regularly.

The exact date of the stop of all social network services was not announced. User accounts are being phased out and data is being deleted. Work on the closure of Google+ will be fully completed this month.
