Google will highlight parts of content on pages based on the text in the SERPs

Google has added an interesting feature to its proprietary search engine. To make it easier for users to navigate the content of the web pages they are browsing and quickly find the information they are looking for, Google will highlight the text fragments that were shown in the answer box in the search results.

Over the past few years, Google developers have been testing the content highlighting feature on web pages, based on a click on a piece of text displayed in the search results. Now, however, it has been announced that this feature has become widespread and available in most browsers.

According to available data, the transition to the searched text will be carried out only in cases where the search engine will be able to determine its exact location on the page. It is noted that website owners do not need to make any changes in order to receive support for this feature. In cases where the search engine cannot select the required material among all the content, the entire page will be opened, as it happened before.

It is noteworthy that for the Google search engine, the mentioned function is not something new. Back in 2018, extracting web page fragments based on user requests began to be supported on AMP pages. In some cases, when moving from a search engine to a page using a mobile device, you can pay attention to the fact that the page is automatically scrolled to the place where the text specified in the request is located.
