Public institutions of France, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands are moving to the Nextcloud platform

Developers of the free cloud platform Nextcloud сообщилиthat more and more institutions and companies from the European Union are refusing to use centralized cloud systems in favor of private cloud storages deployed at their own facilities. Mostly European organizations are migrating from public clouds to comply with the GDPR and due to legal issues caused by the US enforcement of the law. CloudAct, which determines the measures of law enforcement access to user data in cloud storages owned by American companies, regardless of the territorial location of data centers (most public cloud platforms are supported by American companies).

Nextcloud allows you to deploy a full-fledged cloud storage on your network with support for data synchronization and sharing, as well as offering related features such as collaborative document editing, video conferencing, messaging and, starting with the current release, the integration of functions to create a decentralized social network. The French Ministry of the Interior, the German Federal Government, the Dutch Ministry of Education and Swedish government agencies are currently implementing their own cloud systems based on Nextcloud.

The French Interior Ministry is in the process of implementing a Nextcloud-based solution that can scale up to 300 users for secure file sharing and collaborative document editing. At the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Nextcloud platform is used to organize a messaging system and file storage with support for end-to-end encryption. In the German government, on the basis of Nextcloud, an environment for organizing collaboration and data exchange is being formed.
