A version of Astra Linux for smartphones is being prepared

Edition Kommersant reported about the plans of Mobile Inform Group in September to launch smartphones and tablets equipped with the Astra Linux operating system and belonging to the class of industrial devices designed to work in harsh environments. No details about the software stuffing have yet been reported, except for its certification by the Ministry of Defense, the FSTEC and the FSB for processing information to the degree of secrecy of "special importance".

Astra Linux for Desktop is a build of the Debian distribution. It is not clear whether the smartphone version will be based on the Debian environment with a Fly shell adapted for small touch screens, or if the Astra Linux brand will rebuild the Android, Tizen or webOS. The Fly shell is its own proprietary development built on the Qt framework. From the shells available for Debian for mobile devices, developments from projects can also be adapted GNOME Mobile ΠΈ KDE Plasma Mobile, developed for smartphone Librem 5.

As for the hardware component, the smartphone supplied with Astra Linux MIG-C55AL will be equipped with a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 * 1080 (tablets MIG-T8AL и MIG-T10AL respectively 8 and 10 inches), SoC Qualcomm SDM632 1.8 Ghz, 8 cores, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of permanent memory, 4000mAh battery. Battery life is stated at 10-12 hours at temperatures from -20°C to +60°C and four to five hours at temperatures down to -30°C. IP67/IP68 rating,withstands 1.5m drop onto concrete.
