The state corporation Roscosmos announces that preparations have begun at the Baikonur Cosmodrome for the upcoming launch of the Progress MS-15 transport cargo spacecraft.
The device will go into orbit under the program of the International Space Station (ISS). The "truck" will deliver to the ISS fuel, food, water, equipment for scientific experiments and other cargoes necessary for the operation of the orbital complex in manned mode.
As reported, the specialists of the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation named after. S.P. Korolev carried out the re-mothballing of the spacecraft in the assembly and test building of site No. 254 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. After that, an inspection of solar panels was carried out. In addition, the specialists checked the circuits of the squibs and prepared the device for electrical tests.
The launch of the spacecraft to the International Space Station is tentatively scheduled for July 23.
Meanwhile, on July 8, the Progress MS-13 cargo spacecraft, launched last December, is due to undock from the orbital complex. After saying goodbye to the ISS, this debris-filled apparatus will cease to exist, having collapsed in the dense layers of the earth's atmosphere.
