GSMA: 5G networks will not affect weather forecasting

The development of fifth generation (5G) communication networks has long been the subject of heated discussion. Even before the commercial use of 5G, the potential problems that new technologies could bring with them were actively discussed. Some researchers believe that 5G networks are dangerous to human health, while others are confident that fifth-generation communications networks will significantly complicate and reduce the accuracy of weather forecasting.

GSMA: 5G networks will not affect weather forecasting

Recent reports suggest that 5G radio spectrum being auctioned in the US has a number of frequencies that match those used by some weather satellites. Based on this, meteorologists have expressed concerns that 5G networks will significantly reduce the accuracy of weather forecasting.

Now, the GSM Association (GSMA), a trade organization that represents the interests of telecom operators around the world, has refuted the claim that 5G networks will affect weather forecasting. Representatives of the GSMA believe that fifth generation communication networks and prediction services can coexist without harming each other. The organization believes that any organization that opposes the spread of fifth generation communication networks may be behind the spread of rumors about the dangers of 5G networks. According to GSMA experts, 5G is a revolutionary network technology that can benefit all of humanity, so fifth-generation commercial communication networks should be actively developed and implemented around the world.
