Guix System is a Linux distribution based on the GNU Guix package manager.
The distribution provides advanced package management features such as transaction update and rollback, reproducible build environments, unprivileged package management, and per-user profiles. The latest release of the project is Guix System 1.1.0, which introduces a number of new features and improvements, including the ability to perform large-scale deployments using the package manager.
Main innovations:
- The new Guix deployment tool allows you to deploy multiple machines at the same time, whether remote machines via SSH or machines on a virtual private server (VPS).
- Channel authors can now write news entries for their users that are easy to read with the guix pull --news command.
- The new Guix system description command tells you which commits were used to deploy the system and also contains a link to the operating system configuration file.
