Galaxy S11 specs from Samsung Camera: 8K video recording, long display and more

Now that the most important smartphones of 2019 have already been unveiled, all the attention is gradually shifting to Samsung's new flagship series. Many likely Galaxy S11 specifications have already leaked online, but that's not all. Further analysis of the Samsung Camera application allowed us to draw conclusions about some other characteristics.

Previously reported, that XDA, when analyzing the camera application from the beta firmware of Samsung One UI 2.0 beta 4, found references to a 108-megapixel camera. It is assumed that this will be a new version of the sensor compared to that used in modern Xiaomi smartphones (My Notes 10, I CC9 ΠΈ Mi Mix Alpha). Currently, the highest resolution of the main camera in Samsung flagship smartphones is 12 megapixels. According to rumors, the Galaxy S11 will also get 5x optical zoom thanks to a new camera system.

According to the report, among the new functions of the Galaxy S11 camera, the following may appear (judging by software analysis): Single Take Photo (probably automatic intelligent selection of the most successful photo from a series), Night Hyperlapse (night fast shooting) and Director's View (some kind of director's mode ). Additionally, it appears that the phone will support 8K video shooting.

It is worth noting that when announcing the ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, the Korean company announced support for video recording in resolutions up to 6K (6016 Γ— 3384 pixels) at a frequency of 30 frames per second. Which once again speaks in favor of the new version of the sensor. By the way, Samsung's own Exynos 990 single-chip system already supports video encoding in 8K resolution at up to 30 fps - and it is quite possible that the Snapdragon 865 will also support this mode.

Finally, the code indicates that at least one device in the Galaxy S11 family may feature a narrow 20:9 aspect ratio display. As a reminder, the current screen size is 19:9. This means either pulling out the device or completely getting rid of the frames at the top and bottom. Let's see which of the leaks are confirmed in February 2020.
