Honor has lost a prototype smartphone and is ready to pay €5000 for its discovery

During the period when the new smartphone is ready, but its announcement has not yet taken place, the model usually undergoes closed testing. Device prototypes are usually given out to employees of the manufacturing company, who use them on a daily basis to identify possible problems and shortcomings. It would seem that the ideal solution: the novelty is tested in real operating conditions, while information about it does not go beyond the company. But sometimes incidents happen, which recently happened with Honor, a subsidiary of the Chinese corporation Huawei. One of its prototypes went missing in Germany, and now the finder is being offered to return it for a reward of €5000.

The pre-production sample of which model was lost, of course, is not reported. It is only known that the gadget was dressed in a gray protective case that hid its back panel. The phone is believed to have gone missing on the ICE 1125 train, which departed Düsseldorf at 6:06 a.m. and arrived in Munich at 11:08 a.m. local time on Monday, April 22.

Accurate data on whether the smartphone was simply lost or stolen, Honor does not have. The prototype was in use by Moritz Scheidl, an employee of the marketing department of the company, who was returning on the specified train after the Easter holidays spent with his family. Scheidl claims that the device was hidden in a backpack throughout the trip, but when he was about to charge the device upon his return, he did not find it.

Whether the company contacted the police about this is not reported. However, some fans of the brand considered this a publicity stunt, although Honor itself claims that this is not the case.
