Good quarter results had little effect on NVIDIA stock, but the company has good prospects

NVIDIA's quarterly report brought two good news: the company continues to increase revenue even in a pandemic and is preparing for the "best gaming season in its history", which will fall in the second half of the year. The restrained forecast for the increase in revenue in the server segment somewhat upset investors, but all this news had no effect on NVIDIA's stock price.

Good quarter results had little effect on NVIDIA stock, but the company has good prospects

After the start of trading, the share price fell by a fraction of a percent, today it won back almost 1,38%, but this cannot be called a serious fluctuation. As can be judged by industry analysts, NVIDIA's long-term prospects are good in all major areas of activity, even the automotive segment is predicted to have positive revenue dynamics next year. Share price consensus converges in the amount of $534, and the most optimistic experts call the price $600 per share.

Representatives of Deutsche Bank, expressing one of the most conservative positions ($450), speak of NVIDIA's ability to work well in very difficult external conditions. However, they explain that all expectations have long been built into the current stock price, and therefore it will not rise noticeably in the near future. Bank of America believes that through 2024, NVIDIA will be able to increase revenue by at least 20% annually, and earnings per share will grow by 25% per year. Needham specialists share this point of view regarding the growth rate of NVIDIA's revenue.

Representatives of Credit Suisse explain the multidirectional change in demand for server and game components in the second half of the year due to the impact of the pandemic. By the middle of the year, alternative channels for the supply of entertainment content had exhausted the available stocks of new products, and in the second half of the year the importance of the gaming industry will grow, as it is able to function properly in self-isolation, offering customers fresh games.

Barclays analysts tie the timing of the announcement of new NVIDIA gaming graphics cards to the fourth calendar quarter, which begins in October. Morgan Stanley experts also expect that the rise in the gaming market will begin no earlier than October, at the same time the announcements of the main part of new NVIDIA products will take place. It is appropriate to recall that at yesterday's quarterly event, CEO Jensen Huang concluded his speech by inviting him to join the broadcast of the GTC 2020 virtual session, which will be conducted from his kitchen. In May, he already took the A100 computing accelerators with the Ampere architecture out of the oven, according to this analogy, game followers should be in time by October. The broadcast is scheduled for October XNUMXth, although there will also be a virtual event dedicated to the beginning of a "new era" in the gaming segment on September XNUMXst.
