Laptops Omen 15 and Omen 17, as you might guess from the names, differ from each other in display sizes. In the first case, a 15,6-inch panel is used, while in the second, a 17,3-inch one. In both cases, options are available with Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels) and a frequency of 60, 144 or 240 Hz, as well as 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels) and a frequency of 60 Hz. Support for NVIDIA G-Sync technology is optionally available.

The new products are based on the ninth-generation Intel Core H-series processors (Coffee Lake-H Refresh) with six or eight cores, that is, up to Core i9. NVIDIA Turing generation accelerators are responsible for graphics processing. The Omen 15 offers graphics cards up to the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q, while the larger Omen 17 will boast a full version of the GeForce RTX 2080. The manufacturer also notes that the 17-inch model can be equipped with a pair of SSDs and a hard drive, which in total provide up to 3 TB capacity.

As in the flagship Omen X 2S, the Omen 15 and 17 new products use a new cooling system, however, without “liquid metal”. It also uses an array of heat pipes, rather large heatsinks and a pair of "turbine" fans that take in air from below and blow it out the sides and rear. 12-volt fans of increased power are used. It is also noted that the dimensions of the ventilation holes have been increased. HP also provided a special mode of operation of the cooling system, in which the fans rotate at maximum speed, providing additional cooling and, as a result, an increase in performance.
