The Taiwanese company HTC intends to announce a second-generation blockchain smartphone by the end of this year. This was announced by HTC COO Chen Xinsheng, according to network sources.
Last year, we recall, HTC introduced the so-called Exodus 1 blockchain smartphone. In this device, a special area that is inaccessible to the Android operating system serves to store crypto keys and personal user data. Blockchain technologies provide an increased level of security.
Initially, the Exodus 1 model was sold for 0,15 bitcoin, but then for ordinary money - at a price of $699. However, the novelty did not gain much popularity. Despite this, HTC has no plans to abandon the idea of ββreleasing blockchain smartphones yet.
In particular, it is reported that a new device using blockchain technology will be released in the second half of 2019. Its functionality compared to the original version will be expanded.
The NTS did not go into details about the technical characteristics of the smartphone. But, most likely, the device will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform, since the first version is based on the Snapdragon 845 processor.
