Yang Chaobin, president of Huawei's 5G business, has announced the start date for the introduction of 6G mobile technologies.
Currently, the global industry is at the initial stage of commercial deployment of 5G networks. Theoretically, the throughput of such services will reach 20 Gb / s, but at first the data transfer rates will be approximately an order of magnitude lower.
Huawei is one of the leaders in the 5G segment. The company actively implements relevant technologies and also offers 5G-centric transport solutions to help operators accelerate the development of 5G.
At the same time, the start of the commercial introduction of 5G networks will lead to the intensification of work on sixth-generation cellular communication technologies. Of course, Huawei will also conduct intensive research in this area.
True, as Mr. Chaobin stated, the 6G era will come no earlier than 2030. Most likely, such networks will provide throughput at the level of several hundred gigabits per second. However, it is too early to talk about the characteristics of 6G.
Meanwhile, the GSM Association predicts that by 2025 there will be 1,3 billion 5G users and 1,36 billion 5G mobile devices worldwide. By then, 40G global coverage will reach XNUMX%.
