The Chinese company Huawei held its next annual Global Analytical Summit in Shenzhen (China), at which, among other things, it spoke about the development of fifth generation mobile networks (5G).
It is noted that the implementation of 5G technology is happening much faster than expected. Moreover, the evolution of devices supporting the new standard is on par with the evolution of 5G networks themselves.
“The intelligent world is already here. We can touch it. The information and communications technology sector now has unprecedented opportunities for development,” said Ken Hu (pictured), vice chairman of Huawei.
According to the Chinese telecommunications giant, by 2025 the number of 5G base stations around the world will reach 6,5 million, and the number of users of 2,8G services will reach 5 billion. Thus, by the middle of the next decade, XNUMXG will account for more than half of network users globally .
It was also noted that the widespread use of artificial intelligence (AI) is accelerating the adoption of cloud computing technologies in enterprises. Huawei views competition in the cloud market as competition for AI-powered capabilities.
