Huawei begins open beta testing of EMUI 10.1

In recent weeks, Huawei has been conducting closed beta testing of the new user interface EMUI 10.1, built on the basis of the Android 10 software platform. Now it has announced the start of open beta testing of the proprietary shell, which has become available to more smartphones and tablets.

Huawei begins open beta testing of EMUI 10.1

The new user interface EMUI 10.1 or Magic UI 3.1 (for smartphones owned by Huawei's Honor brand) is available to participants in the Chinese company's beta testing program. It is worth noting that Honor 9X smartphones come with the EMUI shell, and not Magic UI, as is the case with other devices of the brand, so the owners of this model will be able to install EMUI 10.1. Unfortunately, at the moment, the geography of distribution is limited to the domestic Chinese market, but, most likely, soon Huawei will expand the list of regions whose residents will be able to participate in testing.

Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, Mate 20 X 5G and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design smartphones, Huawei Nova 5 Pro, as well as Huawei MediaPad M6 tablets (8,4-inch and 10,8-inch versions) and MediaPad M6 Turbo Edition. As for Honor smartphones, the download of the new skin is available for Honor 9X, Honor 9X Pro, Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor V20 and Honor Magic 2 devices.

At the moment, it is not known when Huawei plans to begin mass distribution of the final version of the updated user interface.
