Huawei promises to continue to provide security updates for manufactured devices

Huawei has assured users that it will continue to provide updates and security services for its smartphones and tablets after Google complies with a Washington directive to prevent the Chinese company from providing Android platform updates to its devices.

Huawei promises to continue to provide security updates for manufactured devices

“We have made a significant contribution to the development and growth of Android around the world,” a Huawei spokesperson said on Monday.

"Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services for all existing Huawei and Honor smartphones and tablets, including those that have already been sold and are still available in the global market," a company spokesman said, adding that the company will "continue to work on building a secure and resilient software ecosystem to provide the best experience for all users around the world."

Recall that in connection with the inclusion of Huawei in the “black list” of the Entity List by Washington, the Chinese company may lose the ability to receive updates to the Android platform and access to Google services for their new devices.
