Earlier, Huawei said that the company has own OS called Hongmeng. It is assumed that it will be built on Linux and at the same time be able to work with Android applications. Now it has become known that the operating system may be ready as early as the fourth quarter of this year, and a version for markets outside of China will be available either in the first or second quarter of 2020.
Richard Yu, general manager of Huawei's consumer business division, said the company is still using Microsoft Windows and Google Android, but if they are done away with, Hongmeng will be brought into service.
We also note that Huawei is preparing its own application store, known as the App Gallery. The client of this store is installed by default on Huawei smartphones, but so far the main source of applications is the Google Play Store.
