Huawei has expanded its Mate 80 series smartphone lineup with the new Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition. From previously released models Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max and Mate 80 RS Master Edition The new product stands out for its built-in fan. Pre-orders for the smartphone are now being accepted in China. It is expected to go on sale on March 23.

Huawei hasn't shared full specifications for the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition. However, according to Vmall, the device is available in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB memory configurations.

Images of the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition's rear panel show a ventilation grille at the end of the circular camera cluster. A fan likely draws in or exhausts air through it.

Equipping the device with a fan required the manufacturer to make a compromise. While previous versions featured a quad-camera setup, the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition only features three sensors.

The Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition is available in Polar Night Black and Polar Day Gold. Pricing has not been announced.

It's highly likely that the rest of the device's specifications are identical to the standard Mate 80 Pro Max. The latter, as a reminder, features a 6,9-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a Kirin 9030 Pro processor, and a 6000 mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
