At an international conference held by Huawei for analysts, the Chinese giant announced its plans to launch 5G devices. According to them, the company's first foldable smartphone (and also the first to support 5G networks) is still slated for release this June.
The report also says that the Chinese company plans to release another 5G handset in October this year. As such, it should be the third 5G smartphone in Huawei's portfolio after the Mate X and which have already been announced before. The news of the Mate X launching this June came amid the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold due to problems with the display of prototypes received by journalists.
In addition, the company is going to introduce Huawei's first 5G client terminal in June this year, and later launch a 5G-enabled mobile Wi-Fi router. There is also the possibility that the upcoming Mate 30 and Nova series may also get variants with support for next-generation cellular networks.
Recently Huawei about creating the industry's first 5G module for connected cars. Also a few days ago, the Chinese manufacturer presented a financial report for the first quarter, saying that, despite US sanctions, it managed to ship 59 million smartphones in three months. This is a good achievement, considering that Huawei intends to ship at least 250 million phones to the market this year.
