Huawei conducts user testing of its own OS

After American President Donald Trump announced the easing of sanctions against Huawei, it is likely that the Chinese company will be able to resume access to the Android operating system. Despite this, the telecommunications giant does not intend to abandon plans to create its own software platform.

Huawei conducts user testing of its own OS

According to network sources, Huawei is currently inviting people to conduct user testing of the operating system on one of the new smartphones. Presumably we are talking about the Huawei Mate 30. According to an unnamed Huawei employee familiar with the matter, the company plans to release its own operating system, but it remains to be seen whether this will be done along with the presentation of the new Mate series smartphones.

The message also says that at the moment there is no exact name for the operating system, but it is possible that it will receive the name HongMeng OS, already known on the Internet. Let us recall that some time ago Huawei registered the “HongMeng” brand in several countries, including as an operating system. According to some reports, the software platform will support the entire ecosystem of Huawei devices. In March of this year, Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong announced that the company had developed its own OS in case US authorities restrict access to Android or Windows. Later, he also said that the software platform could be officially launched in China as early as the fourth quarter of this year.
