Recall that public hotspots in our country are required to identify users. The corresponding rules were adopted in 2014. However, not all open Wi-Fi access points still check subscribers.

Roskomnadzor, together with the subordinate radio frequency service, regularly checks existing hot spots in Russia. So, in August, about 4 thousand points were inspected.

The checks revealed 32 cases of violations (0,8% of the total number of checkpoints) related to the lack of user identification.

Thus, now almost all Wi-Fi points in Russia carry out user identification.

However, it should be noted that according to the results for the first half of 2019, violations related to the lack of user identification were detected in 408 cases, which is 1,5% of the total number of checked outlets.

The absence of restrictions on access to illegal information on the Internet in the last quarter was recorded only in 18 cases (0,5% of all checked points).
