IFA 2019: Western Digital unveils upgraded My Passport drives up to 5TB

As part of the annual exhibition IFA 2019, Western Digital introduced new models of external HDD-drives of the My Passport series with a capacity of up to 5 TB. The novelty is enclosed in a stylish and compact body whose thickness is only 19,15 mm.

Three color options are available: black, blue and red. The Mac version of the disc will come in Midnight Blue. Despite being compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand, the drive offers plenty of room to store, organize, and share photos, videos, documents, and more.

The new drives will ship with a USB 3.0 interface and USB 2.0 support. The Mac version of the drive will get a USB Type-C interface. The discs come with pre-installed software that will protect user data. AES-256 encryption is supported.

The new drives will ship in a compact package measuring 107,2 x 75 x 19,15 mm. The 1TB version of the drive will cost $79,99, while the 5TB version will cost $149,99.
