December 4 in Rocket League came out update 1.70, in which the developers removed the loot box system. Keys and loot boxes have been replaced with credits and blueprints that must be purchased with credits. One of the players, who spent more than 680 hours in the arcade, spoke about the incomparability of costs. He noted that previously you had to buy 20 keys to get 20 items. Now, supposedly, you need to use a similar number of resources to get one item.

To ordinary players joined professional eSports player Dillon Rizzo Rizzo. He stated that the studio had not thought through the new system properly.

β€œI wanted to like this update, but it sucks. I support almost all of Psyonix's proposals, but the current system feels half-baked and half-baked," Rizzo said on Twitter.

Psyonix and Epic Games (bought studio at the beginning of the year) have not yet commented on the situation.
