“Having continuously monitored the situation surrounding COVID-19 over the past several weeks, and after many hours of internal discussions and conversations with our partners, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to reschedule EGX to Summer 2020 at a date and announcement to come,” ReedPop said in a statement. “We did our best to try to run the event as planned, but ultimately maintaining social distancing was not possible, nor was it in keeping with the interactive and collaborative nature of Rezzed.” The community is what makes Rezzed so special, and it is our responsibility to make sure your safety remains our top priority.”

ReedPop also said that tickets purchased will be honored for the new Rezzed dates. If a ticket holder is unable to attend the event on the new dates when they are announced, they are asked to contact customer service at [email protected].

“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by COVID-19 during this incredibly difficult time, and we remain committed to delivering EGX: Rezzed in 2020 for everyone who is looking forward to attending the show,” organizers said. “Thank you for all the messages we have received over the past few weeks; this outpouring has been invaluable in helping us decide on our next steps.” Stay tuned to our website and social media to find out when the three-day independent games expo EGX: Rezzed will take place."

Sister show EGX MCM in Birmingham, due to take place on March 21-22, has been rescheduled to June 27-28.
