Insiders said that the production of the direct sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn started immediately after the release of the original game. Initially, they wanted to release the sequel on PS4, but then they revised plans and began to develop a project for the PlayStation 5. The second part will be marked by a βgiantβ open world with more freedom for exploration than was the first part. The project also implements a co-op, but it is not yet clear whether it will be in a separate mode or if the joint passage of the plot is implied.
At one point, Guerrilla Games intended to turn part of the game into a standalone preview. The developers wanted to provide it with a cooperative mode and the ability to transfer progress to the full version of Horizon Zero Dawn 2. At the moment, it is not known whether the authors' plans have changed in this regard.
