A major update of the free vector graphics editor has been released Inkscape.
Introducing Inkscape 1.0! After a little over three years in development, we're excited to launch this long-awaited version for Windows and Linux (and the macOS preview)
Among the innovations:
- transition to GTK3 with support for HiDPI monitors, the ability to customize the theme;
- new, more convenient dialog for selecting dynamic contour effects (live path effects) and several new effects;
- rotation and mirroring of the canvas, the ability to split the canvas into full-color and wireframe viewing modes and move the separation frame, x-ray mode (viewing in wireframe mode under the cursor);
- the ability to change the origin to the upper left corner;
- improved context menu;
- the ability to take into account the pressing force of the stylus when drawing with free strokes (the “Pencil” tool, the Power Stroke contour effect is automatically applied);
- optional mode of aligning objects directly on the canvas, without resorting to a special dialog;
- support for variable fonts;
- support for a number of SVG 2 features, such as the new text element (multiline text and text in a shape);
- when using mesh gradients, you can insert a Polyfill javascript into the code, which ensures correct rendering in browsers;
- in the export dialog, advanced options for saving PNG files are available (bit depth, compression type, anti-aliasing options, etc.).
