Social network Instagram has introduced Threads, an app for messaging with close friends. With it, you can quickly exchange text messages, photos and videos with users included in the list of "close friends". It also passively shares your location, status, and other personal information, raising privacy concerns.
The application has three main components. The first of these is the camera, which automatically launches when you log into Threads. It can be used for simple photography and video recording as there are no filters in the app. Supports customization of shortcuts for contacts. If you are sending a message to a small number of people, then you can move their labels to the bottom of the main screen to simplify interaction.
The second important component of the messenger is the inbox, which displays your messages from the Instagram network, but only to close friends. Group chats are supported, which can only be organized if all participants are on your close friends list.
Another important element is the status screen, which is used to display the status. To create a status, just select a smiley and write a few words or select one of the blanks offered by the application. After that, you can specify how long this status will be shown to your friends.
It can be said that Threads represents another attempt by Instagram to create an interoperable messaging product. Apparently, the application will compete with the Snapchat messenger, which continues to be popular among young people thanks to its lightning-fast, camera-centric messaging.
