The Connected Home division specializes in products for the modern connected home. From SoCs and Wi-Fi chipsets to Ethernet and voice products, these solutions enable you to create a home network infrastructure with optimal performance and built-in security features.

The Connected Home division has annual revenues of approximately $450 million. It is not specified how much Intel expects to receive from the sale of this group.

It is noted that Intel's main competitors in this area are Broadcom and Qualcomm. Perhaps these are the companies that will be interested in the possibility of acquiring the Connected Home division. Intel itself does not comment on the information that has appeared.

Let us add that in July of this year, Intel Corporation sold own business related to modems for smartphones. The buyer was Apple, and the transaction amount was $1 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, the Apple empire received the rights to intellectual property, equipment and assets of Intel. At the same time, the latter retained the ability to develop modems for devices other than smartphones (for computers, Internet of Things products and self-driving cars).
