The intensity of attacks using stalker software in Russia has increased dramatically

Kaspersky Lab has summed up the results of a study on the spread of stalker malware in our country.

So-called stalker software is special surveillance software that is positioned as legal and can be bought on the Internet. Such malware can work completely unnoticed by the user, and therefore the victim may not even be aware of the surveillance.

It is reported that in 2019 in our country the number of mobile device users attacked by stalker programs tripled.

“Such software is usually used for secret surveillance, including by initiators of domestic violence, and therefore carries serious risks for those on whose devices it is installed,” Kaspersky Lab notes.

The study also showed that in 2019 Russia was in first place in the world in terms of the number of users attacked by mobile banking Trojans. Such malware is used to steal confidential information and steal money.

In 2019, the number of attacks aimed at collecting personal information also increased significantly.
