The Runet audience in 2019 reached 92,8 million people. Such data was announced as part of the 23rd Russian Internet Forum (RIF + CIB) 2019.
It is noted that at least once a month the Internet in our country is used by three quarters of the population (76%) over the age of 12 years. These statistics were obtained during the study in September 2018 - February 2019.
Smartphones are the main type of devices for accessing the Web in Russia today: over the past three years, their penetration has increased by 22% and is 61%. The consumption of web content on smart TVs is also on the rise. At the same time, the popularity of personal computers and tablets as devices for accessing the Internet is declining.
The most popular resources are social networks, instant messengers, online stores, search services, video services and banks.
“The increase in the frequency of using the Internet, along with the increase in the time spent by users on the Web, are the main audience trends in 2018. Another important trend that has been going on for several years is the increase in the share of the mobile audience, ”the RIF website says.
It is also noted that the contribution of the Runet economy to the Russian economy reached 3,9 trillion rubles last year. This is 11% more than in 2017.
In 2018, for the first time, the Internet overtook television in terms of advertising revenue: the volume of the web advertising market, according to RACA, amounted to 203 billion rubles. For comparison: TV advertising brought 187 billion rubles.
