July Update for KDE Applications 20.04.3

In line with the monthly update release cycle implemented last year is presented July cumulative update of applications (20.04.3) developed by the KDE project. Total as part of the July update published releases of more than 120 programs, libraries and plug-ins. Most notable innovations:

  • More than four years since the last release, a BitTorrent client has been published torrent 5.2 and the associated LibKTorrent 2.2.0 library. The new release is notable for replacing the QtWebkit browser engine with QtWebengine and improving distributed hash table support (DHT) to define additional nodes.

  • After two and a half years of development available new release of personal finance software KMyMoney 5.1, which can act as a granary book, a tool for planning a family budget, planning expenses, calculating losses and income from investments. The new version adds support for the Indian rupee (β‚Ή) symbol, the option β€œReverse fees and charges” is implemented in the OFX import dialog, and all types of invoices are shown when viewing the budget.

  • In the utility for visual comparison of files kdiff3 1.8.3 Fixed issues with error output when trying to process non-existent files when used with Git. Correct reporting of errors in the directory comparison mode has been provided. Fixed a crash when the clipboard is unavailable. Redesigned full screen mode.
  • In the Dolphin file manager, the problem with previewing desktop files has been fixed.
  • The Konsole terminal emulator removed the substitution of extra newlines when pasting text placed on the clipboard by a GTK application.
  • Expanded site features kde.org/applications. Added display of information about software releases and added download links in the Microsoft Store, F-Droid and Google Play app catalogs, in addition to the previously supported Snap, Flatpak and Homebrew, as well as calling the application manager to install from packages in the current distribution.
