About 600 ad-violating apps removed from Google Play

Google company reported about the removal from the Google Play catalog of about 600 applications that violated the advertising display rules. Problematic programs are also blocked from accessing the advertising services Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager. The removal mainly affected programs that display advertisements unexpected for the user, in places that interfere with work and at times when the user is not working with the application.

The blocking has also been applied to applications showing full-screen advertising without the ability to cancel display; advertising is displayed on the home screen or on top of other applications. To identify problematic programs, a new system was used, implemented using machine learning methods. Among the programs excluded from the catalog were 45 company applications Cheetah Mobile, which has gained fame as the producer of the most popular mobile applications (634 million active users as of 2017).
