The Discord messenger announced the closure of the Discord Nitro subscription game catalog. According to PC Gamer, the games will be removed from the service on October 15, 2019.
The service management stated that the reason was the unpopularity of the gaming section in Discord Nitro. It is reported that the majority of subscribers do not use the directory, so the company decided to change the way it works.
Discord Nitro is a premium subscription in-game messenger. The cost of a monthly subscription for the full version is $10, and for bonuses exclusively of the messenger - $5. In the first case, the user will receive improved Discord functionality with an entire game catalog. In the latter, the player will only be able to receive bonuses in the messenger - custom emoji, an increased limit on file uploads, and much more.
Despite the removal of the game catalog, the company will keep the $10 subscription. The developers said that instead of it, an additional list of functions will appear in the messenger, which users will receive. To add them, the firm invited the players to send their wishes on the topic of what they would like to see in Discord.
