Due to the coronavirus, the Swiss bank UBS will transfer traders to augmented reality

According to online sources, the Swiss investment bank UBS intends to conduct an unusual experiment to transfer its traders to augmented reality mode. This step is due to the fact that due to the coronavirus pandemic, many bank employees cannot return to their offices and continue to perform their duties remotely.

It is also known that traders will use Microsoft HoloLens mixed reality glasses to interact with the virtual space. Some traders reportedly have already received from the bank all the equipment they need to work in augmented reality.

The bank emphasized its intention to continue experiments aimed at providing employees working remotely with the tools they need to perform their duties. For example, the option of installing additional monitors for traders at home, which will display the picture from the cameras working at their colleagues, is currently being considered.

The bank believes that this approach will make it easier for traders to interact when they have to work remotely. UBS COO Beatrice Martin said the bank has set up a dedicated task force to "rethink the trading floor."

The source notes that many banks would like to return employees to the offices, but do not do so due to fears related to the coronavirus and the increase in the incidence.
