Images of an Intel graphics card turned out to be just concepts from one of the company's fans

Last week, Intel held its own event as part of the GDC 2019 conference. On it, among other things, images were shown, as then everyone thought, of the future video card of the company. However, as the Tom's Hardware resource found out, these were only concept arts from one of the company's fans, and not images of the future graphics accelerator at all.

These images are by Cristiano Siqueira, the same design student from Brazil who personally posted some concept art a few months ago showing his vision of an upcoming Intel graphics card. And now the "blue" company decided to show the new products of their fan's creativity at their own event.

And since these are only fan-made images, they do not represent any of the company's plans or Intel's vision for its future graphics card. But why then did Intel start showing image data? In fact, this demo was part of the "Join the Odyssey" program, which aims to promote new products among users. The program involves "propaganda" of Intel products, holding special events, etc. And the program works both ways: Intel collects feedback and wishes from users, and is also interested in ideas for future products.

So, although in the end the Intel video card will probably not look exactly the same as the Brazilian designer portrayed it, we can still see some constructive and design solutions in the finished product. Moreover, the graphics card design shown was inspired by another Intel product - the Intel Optane SSD 905p, so the company may well continue to develop the existing concept.
