EVGA's K|NGP|N GAMING failed to become the most expensive GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

EVGA first demonstrated an unusual video card GeForce RTX 2080 Ti K | NGP | N GAMING at the very beginning of the year at CES 2019. Now the American manufacturer announced the start of sales of its new product. And despite the fact that this is a very unusual version of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, it still turned out to be not the most expensive.

The new graphics card is equipped with a hybrid cooling system. Its main element is the maintenance-free liquid cooling system manufactured by Asetek. It is equipped with a copper water block, which is installed on the Turing TU102 GPU, as well as a 240mm aluminum radiator with a thickness of 30mm. A pair of 120mm fans is responsible for airflow to the radiator, providing an airflow of 69,5 CFM each. Note that it was originally intended to use a 120mm radiator, but it seems that the manufacturer decided to provide cooling with a margin.

An additional copper radiator is responsible for cooling the memory chips and power elements of the power subsystem. It is blown by a powerful 100 mm fan. All this and the very printed circuit board of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti K | NGP | N video card is covered by a metal casing, on one side of which there is an information OLED display, which displays data on frequencies, temperature and other indicators. The rear metal plate completes the picture.

Despite the fact that the video card GeForce RTX 2080 Ti K | NGP | N is named after the overclocker Vince "K | NGP | N" Lucido (Vince Lucido), another famous enthusiast also took part in the creation of the novelty. The Ukrainian overclocker Ilya "TiN" Tsemenko had a hand in the design of the new PCB. Therefore, it is not surprising that the board here is "sharpened" for overclocking, including extreme ones.

The board is made of 12 layers and is equipped with a powerful power subsystem. There are 16 phases for the GPU, and three more are for memory chips. There are three 8-pin connectors for additional power. According to the manufacturer, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti K | NGP | N graphics card is capable of accepting more than 520 watts of energy.

Noteworthy is the fact that the novelty has three BIOS chips at once, which provide operation in standard, overclocked (OC) and extreme (LN2) modes. The latter is obviously intended for extreme overclocking of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti K | NGP | N using liquid nitrogen or other very cold substances. To help the overclocker, there are contacts for connecting a voltmeter and other equipment, as well as a number of sensors and a video card diagnostics system, which provides safe (relatively) overclocking, and warns in case of danger.

Interestingly, the new product received not the most outstanding factory overclocking: the GPU operates at a frequency of up to 1770 MHz in Boost mode, and the 6 GB GDDR11 memory remains with the reference effective frequency of 14 GHz. Apparently, the manufacturer decided to leave the pleasure of overclocking to users.

Such an unusual video card, of course, could not be cheap. The cost of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti K | NGP | N GAMING in the EVGA online store is $ 1900. Despite such a considerable price, this is by no means the most expensive GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. This status belongs to the Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Kudan video card, which is priced at $ 3000. Although on the well-known Chinese site you can find it "only" for $ 2839.
