Kali Linux 2019.4

Kali Linux 2019.4

On November 26, 2019, a new version of Kali Linux was released, a Linux distribution based on Debian testing and designed for security auditing. The distribution includes utilities that can be used to test networks, gain unauthorized access to data or network services, and disrupt their operation. Also, the distribution kit can be useful for investigating security breaches on already compromised and suspicious systems.

There is a distribution version for arm devices and Android devices (installed and launched using Linux Deploy).

New in Kali Linux 2019.4:

  • Xfce has become the distribution's main desktop environment.
  • New GTK 3 theme for Gnome and Xfce.
  • OS kernel updated to version 5.3.9
  • "Undercover" operating mode - in it, the graphical interface of the operating system resembles the interface of Windows 10.
  • The distribution documentation has been translated into the Markdown markup language and is available at GitLab. The documentation contains descriptions of the procedures for creating your own packages for the distribution, as well as your own builds of Kali Linux. Added OS installation guide using BTRFS for root file system.
  • The distribution packages include PowerShell.
  • NetHunter Kex - the ability to use mobile devices with Android OS as workstations with Kali Linux. It is enough to connect a mobile device to an image output device, a Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse - and get a full-fledged replacement for a personal computer with Kali Linux.
