Testing of the first release candidate Wine 7.0, an open implementation of WinAPI, has begun. The codebase has been put on hold ahead of the release, which is expected in mid-January. Since the release of Wine 6.23, 32 bug reports have been closed and 211 changes have been made.
The most important changes:
- A new implementation of the joystick driver for WinMM (Windows Multimedia API) is proposed.
- All Wine Unix libraries have been converted to a system call based API.
- Closed bug reports related to games: Sea of ββThieves, EVE Online Client, World of Warships, Everquest, Houkago Cinderella.
- Application bug reports closed: NIK Dfine2, YouTube Movie Maker, cMUD 3.34, OpenMPT, dgVoodoo Control Panel, DTS Encoder Suite, Glyph.
