KDE moves to GitLab

The KDE community is one of the largest free software communities in the world, with over 2600 members. However, the entry of new developers is quite difficult due to the use of Phabricator, the original KDE development platform, which is rather unusual for most modern programmers.

Therefore, the KDE project is starting to migrate to GitLab in order to make development more convenient, transparent, and more accessible to beginners. Already available gitlab repositories page core KDE products.

β€œWe're thrilled that the KDE community has chosen to use GitLab to give its developers more power to build cutting-edge applications,” says David Planella, PR Director for GitLab. This mindset aligns with the goals of GitLab, and we look forward to the support of the KDE community, which creates great software for millions of users around the world."
