Nate Graham, a quality assurance developer for the KDE project, has published the latest KDE development report. The most significant change accepted into the KDE Plasma 6.5 branch, scheduled for release on October 16, is a significant change in the visual style. When using the Breeze theme, windows are now rendered in KWin with rounded bottom corners (previously only the top corners were rounded, while the bottom ones remained sharp). The new window style is offered by default, but can be disabled in the settings if desired.

Other changes in the Plasma 6.5 branch include:
- Added support for resizing the sidebars of the application manager (Discover) and the interface with system information (System Monitor). The selected size is saved in a separate configuration file that reflects the window state parameters and does not intersect with the file with general settings.
- The "Disks & Devices" widget now has the ability to quickly mount a disk without checking for errors, as well as an option to start the checking process without mounting.
- KRunner has begun work on improving the ranking of search results. Among the implemented features, the priority increase for KDE applications and items from the Favorites section has been stopped.
- The weather forecast widget now supports loading forecasts from an external source. Server immediately after exiting sleep mode if the system has been in sleep mode for more than 30 minutes.
- The interface for adding a new user now includes a "Cancel" button to close the dialog box.
