Cybercriminals are actively using a new way to spread spam

Kaspersky Lab warns that network intruders are actively implementing a new scheme for distributing "garbage" messages.

It's about sending spam. The new scheme involves the use of feedback forms on legitimate websites of companies with a good reputation.

This scheme allows you to bypass some spam filters and distribute spam messages, phishing links, and malicious code without arousing user suspicion.

The danger of this method is that the user receives a message from a reputable company or well-known organization. And therefore, there is a high probability that the victim will fall on the hook of intruders.

Kaspersky Lab notes that the new fraud scheme appeared thanks to the very principle of organizing feedback on the site. As a rule, in order to use any service, subscribe to a newsletter or ask a question, a person first needs to create an account. To do this, at a minimum, you must provide your name and email address. However, in most cases this address needs to be confirmed, for which an email is sent to the user from the company's website. And it is in this message that spammers have learned to add their information.

Cybercriminals indicate the victim's e-mail address from pre-assembled or purchased databases, and instead of the name they enter their advertising message.

β€œAt the same time, scammers are not only increasingly using this method of spamming to their advantage, but are also actively starting to offer a similar service to others, promising to deliver advertising through feedback forms on legitimate company websites,” Kaspersky Lab notes.
