China to lift lockdown on Hubei province on March 25, Wuhan on April 8

According to online sources, Chinese authorities will lift restrictions on movement, as well as entry and exit from Hubei province on March 25. In the provincial capital of Wuhan, restrictions will last until April 8. This was reported by the TASS news agency with reference to a statement published by the State Committee for Health Affairs of Hubei Province.

The department's statement says that the decision to lift quarantine was made against the backdrop of an improving epidemiological situation in the province. β€œFrom 00:00 hours (19:00 Moscow time) on March 25, with the exception of the Wuhan city area, road restrictions in Hubei province will be lifted and traffic entry and exit will be restored. People leaving Hubei will be able to travel based on the health code,” the National Health Commission said in a statement. The health code, or jiankanma, is a program that assesses people's risk of exposure to infection based on their movements.  

As for Wuhan, the administrative center of Hubei province, restrictions in the city will last until 00:00 on April 8. After this, transit roads will be open, transport links will be restored, and people will be able to enter and leave the city.

Let us remind you that the quarantine in Wuhan and Hubei province was caused by an outbreak of coronavirus and lasted from January 23.
