Paradox Interactive has released a trailer and information about the fifth and final vampire clan, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, the Malkavians.
The Malkavian clan is also known as the Moon clan. Its members know what is not subject to anyone else, but pay for it with their minds. The mind of the vampire clan is subject to psychosis and other mental illnesses. Other Kindred avoid them because they don't understand and feel uncomfortable around them. However, there are those who appreciate the unique abilities of these vampires.
Members of the Malkavian clan use the discipline "Dementation" - penetrate the mind of their victim and influence it. The second discipline is Divination. It allows you to expand the possibilities of perception far beyond the boundaries of the body:
"Madness"
- Hunt - fills the minds of victims with a sense of invisible menace. Unable to control themselves, people flee in terror.
- "Berserk" - the victims are filled with uncontrollable rage, because of which they pounce on anyone who turns up under their arm. If there are no suitable targets nearby, they will enthusiastically fight with the air.
The use of this discipline is considered unacceptable, but is not a violation of the Masquerade.
"Divination"
- Aura Reading - Allows the vampire to detect the presence of characters through walls, easily scan crowds, and pick out individual characters even at great distances. Through discipline, the vampire sees the weaknesses of marked victims.
- Spiritual Projection - Separates the vampire's mind from the body, allowing you to explore the space in astral form and mark any character seen. The vampire's perceptual abilities are enhanced to the point where she can telepathically suppress the sensations of others for a short time.
The use of this discipline in front of mortals does not count as a violation of the Masquerade.
Joining any of the clans is accompanied by the reaction of other Kindred. Someone will become your friend, for others it may cause hostility. Joining a Malkavian clan also unlocks unique dialogue options not available to other clans.
The developers promise to add other clans with free updates after the release of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The game will go on sale in the first quarter of 2020 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
