After graduation Death Stranding game designer Hideo Kojima in my microblog hinted at his next project. Apparently, it will be a game in the horror genre.

Kojima hinted at a return to the horror genre

According to Kojima, in order to create "the scariest horror game in the game", he needs to awaken his "horror soul". This is done by watching relevant films.

“During the development of PT, I rented the Thai horror movie The Eye, but I couldn’t finish it because it was too scary,” the famous game designer admitted.

Kojima was so frightened by the cover of the picture that he only rented the disc itself (in Japanese version of the message the action is in the future tense). Freed from Death Stranding, the developer still hopes to master the film.

Said PT is an interactive teaser for the canceled Silent Hills that Kojima worked on with director Guillermo del Toro and actor Norman Reedus.

The announcement of the project in August 2014 made a splash, but before the release development did not last. According to rumors, strained relations between the Japanese game designer and Konami management affected.

According to unverified information from a former IGN editor Alanah Pearce, in Silent Hills, the developer hoped to interact with users outside of the game: messages from the characters would come to the phone and email of gamers.

After the cancellation of Silent Hills by Kojima spoke of reluctance return to horror because of his excessive fearfulness. In the same, by his own admission, the game designer, and his strength - he understands the nature of fear.

After leaving Konami in December 2015, Kojima founded a new studio and took on an independent project - Death Stranding. The game was released on November 8 on PS4, and in the summer of 2020 it will get to PC.
