Microsoft has published a test release of SQL Server 2022 for Linux

Microsoft has announced the start of testing a release candidate for the Linux version of SQL Server 2022 (RC 0). Installation packages are prepared for RHEL and Ubuntu. Ready-made SQL Server 2022 container images based on RHEL and Ubuntu distributions are also available for download. For Windows, the test release of SQL Server 2022 was formed on August 23rd.

It is noted that in addition to general new features, SQL Server 2022 RC 0 also offers several Linux-specific improvements. In particular, support for authentication using Azure Active Directory (AAD) has been added, the ability to change the REQUIRED_SYNCHRONIZED_SECONDARIES_TO_COMMIT parameter for distributed availability groups has been provided, support for Azure Synapse Link analytics has been provided (for integration, a runtime installed on a Windows system on the same network is used).
