Mozilla launches website showing how users can be tracked

Mozilla Company presented service Track This, which allows you to visually evaluate the methods of operation of advertising networks that track visitor preferences. The service allows, through the automated opening of about 100 tabs, to simulate four typical profiles of behavior on the network, after which advertising networks begin to offer content corresponding to the selected profile for several days.

For example, if you choose the profile of a very rich person, the ads will start to feature expensive hotels, luxury cars, premium brands, and exclusive clubs. When choosing a hipster behavior profile, the latest trends, exclusive deals, comfortable clothing, and the latest music will dominate the SERPs. The paranoid profile will show links to various conspiracy theories, information about building bunkers, and information about stockpiling for a rainy day. The profile of the manipulated consumer will display fashion and skincare ads, astrological forecasts, and offers associated with likes and subscriptions.
