Development will continue as a free project. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Muse Group projects will also include the free MuseScore music editor, purchased in 2017 and continuing to evolve as a free project.
Of the plans associated with Audacity, the intention is to hire developers to develop the project and designers to easily non-destructively modernize the interface. Recall that Audacity provides tools for editing sound files, recording and digitizing sound, changing the parameters of a sound file, overlaying tracks and applying effects (for example, noise reduction, changing tempo and tone). The Audacity code is distributed under the GPL.
